However, what Ray was talking about is how we speak about ourselves. To ourselves. To other people. How much energy we put in to negative concepts.
"I'm too busy"
I'm so frustrated"
I'm feeling overwhelmed"
I'm disappointed in myself"
That is how you come to think about yourself and your behaviors. You block off any opportunities for finding solutions, for progressing.
So how do we change it? We start asking ourselves better questions. When we ask ourselves better questions we allow our brains to start looking for solutions. Even when we're not consciously thinking about it.
If we tell ourselves we can't afford it, or don't have time, or don't know this, or feel overwhelmed we block our brain. It doesn't even think to look for solutions because we've already told it there is none.
Four years I attended the Landmark Forum. It was life changing. I walked away getting something I wasn't even expecting. I learnt I could write my own story. That the past didn't have to define me. That if I wanted to do something I had to work out how to make it happen.
I learnt from Robert Kiyosaki to ask better questions. So I did. This is what I want to do, what do I need to do, learn, be, to do that.
So this week I challenge you. Think of something you want to do but you haven't because of all the excuses you make. Start asking yourself how you can make it work and watch what happens.
I'd love to hear what you find.
