The start was beautiful, as beautiful as it can be at that time of the morning in pitch darkness.
But as the sun came up behind us and poked through the trees...that was pretty. And we could see ferns. I hadn't noticed any before.
I did not get to see any kangaroos. I saw black Cockatoos flying, but that was about it. My light fell off and Darryl and I went back a few km's to look for it with no luck so that was a gone.
I saw lots of flat land and long straight roads. I saw a beautiful sunset at the end of the day sitting on the beach. But no kangaroos.
I did, however, discover that South Australian flies are lazy. Check out the picture of Mikes back. Those black spots are flies. They just hitched a ride for a few km's. I'd not seen anything like it.
Today I cried, sitting there reading all the comments and messages of support. Donations are still coming in. People are being generous and helping me and the other riders and support crew to support our cause. The messages of support from my friends and family (even though I asked for them) was overwhelming. Then I cried on the first part of the bike ride after the lunch break. But that was ok because it took my mind off my legs for a bit.
That was more emotional for me than completing the 200km in one ride. That was exciting. And it was the support from the group and all of you guys that got me there.
You guys are awesome!!
And at the end of the day this isn't about me and my goal. We're doing this to raise money for HFF (check out the link in the sidebar for more information). Thank you for reading this blog. If you enjoyed it I would really appreciate it if you shared it on social media.
And if you're keen to support children in need I would love you to do so by donating through my

Have an amazing day!!!
