But it's not over yet right? Next step is Level 3 alert so not everyone will be going back to work and there are still people who have lost their jobs. If you have a job where you can work from home then that's awesome. But businesses still need to be generating revenue to pay their staff so the flow on effects of level 4 will still be coming.
We can't control what happens externally. We can only control what we do as a result. Which bring me to ask this question...are you a thermostat or a thermometer?
I heard this statement "are you a thermostat or are you a thermometer" earlier this week. And I really liked it. If you think about it, the basic difference is that a thermometer responds to the environment while a thermostat sets the environment.
So have you responded to the environment? Or have you made a conscious decision to set the environment to suit you.
Mental wellbeing and emotional resilience will get us through. How we perceive the situation will determine how we move forward. Is this an obstacle or opportunity? Is this the end of the world or is this a chance to recreate your world?
Physical movement and nutrition will help us with mental well being - have you kept that commitment to yourself no matter what and set yourself up to keep living a healthy active lifestyle. For a lot of us with a little bit more time is there really the excuse now of having no time?

Now if we dig a little deeper, where have you found yourself in the current environment? Have you responded to it or have you set yourself up to move forwarded?
For example, I know losing your job is scary and it would be easy to view it as the end of the world but what if you looked at it as an opportunity to create something new? What have you been putting off doing that you want to do that you could start doing now?
Or is there something you've always wanted to learn?
A few years ago I was working in a job that I really enjoyed but circumstance changed the situation and I no longer enjoyed it. Because I'm big on not wasting time being unhappy I changed the situation. I left and set myself up to work from home. Was it scary? Yes. Was it worth it? Yes. I set up my environment to suit me.
During this lock down I've had to temporarily close one of my businesses, therefore, no revenue is coming in. Instead of stressing I've taken this opportunity to work ON the business, gain some real clarity around the direction I want to take it and work out how I can better serve my clients. It's not all bad, in fact, I'm actually loving this time.
This also gives the me the opportunity to stay busy, to have a routine. These are all things I find help and the 4 weeks have flown by
